Here's the last major construction step ~ making and attaching the cockpit and hatch coamings. Actually there's still plenty left to do, like making the hatch covers, putting in the foam bulkheads that seal off the rear and front compartments (you can see that they've already been installed here), putting in the pedals and rudder, and the rest of the hardware, not to mention all the finish work. But there's no need to bore you to tears, especially when precious building time is being wasted! See you on the water maybe?
By the way, a word of advice - don't just build one. It's not much fun kayaking alone. And don't build a two-seater either. If you think that you and your spouse would enjoy paddling together in one boat, think again. Your marriage will never survive it. back to kayak homepage  |
